At KIPP Chicago we are forward looking. We improve ourselves continuously. We push our students unceasingly. We support our alumni perpetually.

Since 2009—KIPP Chicago has grown from one school serving 320 students to six schools serving nearly 3,000 students and alumni. And we are on track to open two more schools in 2018, meaning that by 2020 we will be serving more than 4,600 students across eight campuses on the South and West Sides.

KIPP Chicago is the highest performing K-8 charter network in Chicago.

According to CPS’s accountability framework for all schools—the School Quality Ratings Policy—KIPP Chicago is the highest ranked elementary and middle charter school network in Chicago. We also score higher than averages for all traditional public schools, schools in our neighborhoods, and schools that serve student populations similar to ours.

We are also consistently among the highest performing regions in the national network of 209 KIPP schools.

Since 2013, KIPP Chicago has been above the KIPP network average every year in math and reading performance. In 4 of the last 5 years KIPP Chicago has been in the top 10. In SY16-17 KIPP Chicago teachers led the KIPP network in 5th grade reading growth (holding the top two spots), 5th grade math growth (again, holding the top two spots), and 6th grade math.

We keep the promise of “to and through college.“

KIPP Chicago 8th grade alumni graduate college at more than the national rate (regardless of income or demographics), 2x the CPS rate, (again regardless of income or demographics) and 4x the rate of students from low-income communities. Our commitment to incoming kindergartners is for almost 20 years—from early childhood to college graduation.

To drive these results We partner with more than 90 colleges and universities across the country to admit and support first-generation college students from KIPP schools. KIPP College Partnership colleges and universities include Berkeley, Brown, Duke, Georgetown, Morehouse, Penn, Spelman, Ohio State, Texas, and Washington University, to name a few.
